Recipe: Alfredo Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 Tbl butter
  • 4 Tbl flour
  • 1 c heavy cream
  • 1 c chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 c shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • ½ c Romano cheese
  • 3 Tbl dried parsley
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ c white wine
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt butter and add flour. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly to cook flour. Add cream and broth all at once and blend well. Add the remaining ingredients and stir until cheese has melted and sauce is smooth.
  2. Pour over chicken, shrimp or pasta.
